Ole Pappy

Crunch time

Here we are — past Harvest Time already, and our farmers are waiting to get in the field. When they do get in, they’re finding lots of mud, wet fields and crops that will probably have to be dried.

Our “Milk Maid” writer, Brittany Moorse sums it up pretty well. Facts are: this is already a poor crop, farmers are trying to get in what they can despite terrible conditions and they’re racing potential destruction from a frost.

It’s anything but ideal. In fact, it’s frightening! But we know they’ll be out there giving it their best shot.

LAUGH A LITTLE: It’s all lost on me! A doctor told his patient, “There’s good news and bad news. The bad news is, you have partial short-term memory loss.”

The patient said, “Oh no, Doctor. What’s the bad news?” Well, that same patient asked his pharmacist, “My memory is getting so bad, “Do you have any Acetylsalicylic acid?” The pharmacist said, “You mean aspirin?” The patient said, “That’s it! I can never remember that word.”

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK: As my Ole Pappy used to say, “You are never too old to dream a new dream.”

Keep dreaming. Thanks Ole Pappy!
