Minneota Library News
I would like to congratulate writer and poet Dana Yost, former Minneotan, on his new book of poetry put out by the South Dakota State Poetry Society. His book, In Your Head, is available for sale at the library. While we cannot hold programs due to COVID, when we open up to having events again, I'm hoping Dana will come and give a poetry reading here.
Lately I have been going through Juvenile non-fiction books, and finding so many very good books. If there are any young people interested in learning how to draw, we have books on our shelves that will interest you. We are also acquiring new books all time, both fiction and non-fiction.
I'd like to remind students who are distance learning that the library is here to help them. If you are looking for a book to read for the Accelerated Reading program, we have many books that have been marked with AR reading levels and points. We can also look up that information if it isn't already on a book you've chosen. We are going to add book levels, points, and AR quiz numbers to our books. We have just added some books to our collection that are in the 4-5-6 book level. I invite you to come and see them.
I also want to remind students that the Scholastic BookFlix and ScienceFlix programs are available online. All you need is a Plum Creek Library care in order to use this service. It is not available through the school libraries; only public libraries. If you don't have a library card, come visit us (with a parent) to get one and you'll be set to go. If you have any questions about these websites, talk to one of the librarians the next time you visit.
