‘Minneapolis Miracle’, ‘Minnesota Miracle’ or ‘Minnesota Magic’?

Vikings at their own 39, it’s third down. Three receivers right, (Adam) Thielen left, Marshon Lattimore 12 yards from Adam... Case (Keenum) on the deep drop, steps up in the pocket, he’ll fire to the right SIDE, CAUGHT BY DIGGS!

He got loose! At the thirty! Ten! TOUCHDOWN! Are you kidding me?! It’s a Minneapolis Miracle! Stefon Diggs! And the Minnesota Vikings have walked off on the New Orleans Saints!

It’s a 61-yard Minneapolis Miracle!

Chances are you know about the Minnesota Vikings’ amazing walk-off touchdown against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. Whether you saw it on the news, in the paper, on the radio or on the internet, that clutch touchdown has been the talk of the town.

The radio call by Paul Allen of KFAN is an instant classic among Vikings fans and could be listened to over and over again.

It’s been dubbed the “Minneapolis Miracle”, the “Minnesota Miracle” and “Minnesota Magic.” Whatever you call it, it’s hands down the best Minnesota Vikings play I’ve seen in my lifetime.

It even has its own Wikipedia page. That play has to rank high on the list of all Minnesota top plays.

It’s one of those “once-in-a-lifetime” moments that you remember exactly where you were. I was in the barn and I was mentally preparing myself for a loss while maintaining a sliver of hope.

I couldn’t believe it! My family and friends couldn’t believe it and nobody I knew could believe it! For once, it went Minnesota’s way! I knew some people at the game and the photos and videos they shared on social media were incredible.

I swear I’ve watched the play dozens of times.

Someone set that play to the main song from Titanic, “My Heart Will Go On,” by Celine Dion. That is definitely my favorite video. There has never been an NFL team to host a championship game and also play in it.

The Vikings are only one game away from making that a reality. I don’t want to jinx them, but it never hurts to dream, right? IF they win on Sunday against Philadelphia to punch their ticket home to U.S. Bank Stadium, it poses a lot of interesting questions.

Would it effect the amount of people flying in to the big game?

Would airline prices change?

Would ticket prices to the big game be effected?

What about hotels in Minneapolis?

Would it effect pricing and room availability?

After Sunday night’s spectacular finish, one of my aunts texted, “Big game merchandise just went up in price!” as a way to celebrate.

But it does raise the question, if the Vikings are in the big game, will it effect memorabilia and merchandise prices?

From a team standpoint, would playing at their home stadium be an advantage for the Vikings? Would being able to practice in their facilities, sleeping in their own beds, maintaining familiar routines, would that help or hurt them?

So many questions that I’m hoping they will be given the opportunity to answer.

There are so many neat events planned around the Twin Cities during the week of the big game, I think many locals are planning on attending no matter who is playing.

Regardless of what happens in the NFC Championship game on Sunday against Philadelphia, this has been an amazing season that would could only be sweeter if the Vikings bring it home to Minnesota.

No matter what, we’ll always have the “Minnesota Miracle.”
