Can't go to the game? Stay cozy at home

Over the past week, Minneota Schools celebrated Homecoming. We are so lucky here at the Mascot to have Minneota Senior Cecilia Rabaey come and job shadow with us for about an hour everyday.

Cecilia has been so open to learning new things it’s been a lot of fun to spend time with her and teaching her.

If you glance through photos from the homecoming festivities, you’ll notice Cecilia took a majority of them and she did a fantastic job! I was so excited to see her photos when she brought them in.

She did a great job capturing the spirit of the week and she’s been playing around with photo editing too. You’ll also notice that Friday wasn’t the most weather friendly day for the homecoming festivities.

The weather didn’t stop the fun. I had every intention of going to Friday night’s football game.

My youngest brother is a senior and this was his last homecoming football game.

But, Friday’s cold and rainy weather quickly changed my plans. So, instead I was a total weenie and pulled the game up on my YouTube app on my phone while I finished up feeding my animals.

Normally, I listen to the game on my radio app so it’s easier to follow along to while I do chores, but Friday’s game was only available on YouTube.

My poor animals.

Any time my brother’s name is mentioned I think I scare them because I cheer extra loud. Plus, the Marshall radio station has these little “cameos” where members of the football team say their name and something about “you’re listening to Minneota Football.”

Well, my brother has been featured on that and it’s so funny because when he comes on my dog recognizes his voice and starts running around looking for him. Anyway, after I got in from chores I solidified my decision to stay home because it started to pour. So, using my smart T.V., I pulled up YouTube and typed in “MPS Stream”.

That is the Minneota Schools stream that you can use to stream home games and certain school events. You can even subscribe to it and set reminders for events you want to watch. You can also go to the school’s website (www.minneotaschools.org) and scroll down to the “For Your Information” section.

The link for home games and events will be listed their too. I did feel a little bad about not being at the game physically.

But, I stayed dry and cozy from home and had the best seat in the house. It really is a nice service the school provides for family, friends and supporters to be able to watch the games from wherever.

Hopefully the weather is better for Thursday night’s game, but if it’s not, I can count on watching the Vikings comfortably.
