Local student competes in tourney

The Southwest State University wheelchair basketball team recently completed a successful season of competition. Their success took them to the National Intercollegiate Wheelchair Basketball Final Four at the University of Texas at Arlington held March 7-9. The “local connection” here is that Steve Coequyt, son of Leo and Helen Coequyt of this community, is a member of the team. Not only did Steve participate in the tournament, but he was named to the Second Team in All-American status. Coequyt is a Junior at SSU. He scored 19 points in his second game of the tournament.
