Letter to the Editor

To the Editor:
I am grateful to live in a state that has one of the safest and most secure elections systems in the country. We can also be proud that we have a reputation for leading the nation in voter turnout.
I recognize the importance that regardless of skin color eligible voters must have their vote counted.
Due to the coronavirus we are seeing more people voting absentee which understandably requires more time to accurately count and verify those votes. With a little patience and dedication, we can accomplish this. As we do, it is a sign that democracy stands tall and we are willing to do the work that it takes to count and protect the vote.
I'm willing for it to take a little longer to get it right. As proud citizens of this country we can wait a bit longer than normal ensure that every vote counts and every vote is counted.
