This recipe is in honor of Snowball Week at the high school. These cookies are quick and easy to make.
They can be made with or without nuts and are delicious either way.
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/3 cup butter or margarine
- 2 cups Bisquick baking mix
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 tablespoons water
- Powdered sugar
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix 1/2 cup powdered sugar and the butter. Stir in baking mix, nuts and almond extract. Mix in enough water to moisten dough. Shape dough into one-inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until set, but not brown (10-12 minutes). Immediately remove from cookie sheet and let cool five minutes. While warm, roll balls in powdered sugar. Makes approximately three dozen cookies.
Note: If you don’t want nuts in the cookies, omit nuts and almond extract and gently press candied cherry half in center of each ball before baking.
