French Toast

I like having a scrambled egg with cheese every morning but on the weekends I like to ‘stir’ things up and make other things like French toast.
Here is a great recipe for breakfast in the “More Lifelong Favorites” collection from the “Senior Perspective” that is available for sale at the Mascot office.
Deluxe French Toast
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 12 slices bread
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 6 eggs, beaten well
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Melt butter in a glass 9 x 13 pan. Add brown sugar and spread evenly in pan. Cover with 2 layers of bread. Sprinkle cinnamon over each layer.
Mix eggs, milk, vanilla and salt together, then pour over the bread. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350° for 40 minutes or until top is brown.
