Sump Pump discharge
By:
Minneota Police Chief Bill Bolt
With this year's record-setting snowfall, we are seeing a tremendous increase in the amount of water entering the Minneota sanitary sewer system.
This water is believed to be coming from sump pumps that are being discharged into a floor drain or are hooked up directly to the sanitary sewer system.
Many people are reporting that their sump pumps are running every few minutes.
This causes tens of thousands of gallons of water to overload our sanitary sewer system.
The City of Minneota is asking for all sump pumps to be discharged to the yard or street.
Your help is greatly needed and appreciated.
