Ask the Chief

Are you prepared?

It’s the first week of October and time to start thinking about winter driving safety. With temperatures falling, harvest starting and school activities underway, vehicle maintenance and winterization is often neglected.

Police Departments, Fire Departments and Ambulance units across the state are encouraging drivers to make sure their tires are in good shape, properly inflated and have sufficient tread remain to handle snow.

It’s a good idea to have a friend help you check your headlights, brake lights and turn signals to ensure they are all working.

How many of you carry a winter kit in your vehicle to include a small shovel, blanket, candles with matches and some snacks?

You never know when something bad may happen and it is best to be prepared. For more tips and help, you can stop in at the Minneota Police Department and I can take a look at your vehicle with you.
