With the warmer temperature, we are seeing the river rise in Minneota.

This also means that there are sump pumps working overtime to move water from around your basement.

During the winter, we allow residents to discharge their sump pump to their floor drain but once spring arrives we need everyone to discharge their sump pumps to their yard or street.

Currently, our sanitary sewer system is processing three times the normal amount of water and we believe busy sump pumps are the reason.

Please check your sump pump and make sure it is discharging on your lawn or street.

This will help protect and extend the life of the sanitary sewer system along with avoiding higher taxes.
