Occasionally I’m asked about traffic signs and or safety concerns involving streets. In Minneota, we have three streets that are not under the control of the City of Minneota.

These are Hwy. 68, County Road 10 and Country Road 3. Our ability to change signs, add paint or make other safety improvements is very limited and requires approval from Lyon County or Minnesota State DOT.

The remaining streets are completely within the control of the city. If you have a concern or suggestion for improving safety, please stop in and talk to me. We have a process by which your suggestion will be reviewed. I

f your concern is for a street controlled by Lyon County or the DOT, we will provide you with the contact information so that you can express your concerns.

Everyday myself along with other city employees looks for faded or damaged signs, potholes, paint issues among other things in order to keep our streets as safe as possible.

If you find something that we missed, we would appreciate you bringing it to our attention.
