Dealing with leaves

With fall rapidly approaching it is time to think about yard work, winterizing your home and car, and dealing with leaves.
Take advantage of the time you have now to make next year's spring easy.
Do not blow your leaves into the street or your neighbor's yard. The City of Minneota has a leaf dump site right in town for you to use.
Gather up all of your loose sticks and take them to the burn site in town. Clean your gutters of any debris in case we get rain before the snow comes.
Have your furnace inspected so that it is ready when you need it. Check your shovels and snow blowers to make sure they are also ready to go. Inspect your windows and doors for air leaks.
Do you have a bag of salt for icy driveways and sidewalks? Do you need help with snow removal and have you talked to the person who is going to provide that service?
Have you looked at your tires to make sure they are good enough for snow and ice? Is your vehicle battery old and in need of replacement? Is your car running "tip-top" or do you need it serviced before winter hits?
A little prevention and work today will pay off when it is cold and snowy.
