Don't trust you "auto" headlights. They don't turn on the tail lights in all vehicles.

The best practice is to manually turn on your headlights and taillights.

Do this if the street lights are on. Also, if it is raining, blowing snow or if a storm is moving in that is dark.

People need to see you from behind just as much as you need to see them in front of you.
