On August 1, it will be a violation of the law to drive and use your cell phone while holding it in your hand. Are you prepared for the change?

Have you learned how to use your Bluetooth system in your car or have you purchased and aftermarket Bluetooth system?

There has been a tremendous amount of advertisement regarding this new law. I can't imagine there is anyone who has not heard about it. Many of you may be wondering what to expect from law enforcement agencies on August 1.

I expect that some agencies will be lenient for the first week or so and give warnings while some will immediately start writing tickets. If you don't want to risk earning an expensive ticket I suggest you either use your Bluetooth or turn your phone off.

So many of us have a very bad habit of using our phones in the car and the temptation to do so may be more than we can handle.

This law is about making our daily drive safer for everyone. The life that will be saved, just might be yours.
