Thomas Hennen led the Minneota Vikings boys basketball team in scoring this past year with 563 points or 20 points per game.
It was like the preliminary round of a tournament.
Minneota went to Cottonwood Thursday night to take on a formidable Lakeview squad — and beat them, 75-58.
The very next game after Thomas Hennen became a member of the 1,000-point club, he tossed in 32 points to lead Minneota over Renville Co. West, 93-78.
That was 10 wins in a row.
On Thursday, the Canby-Minneota track team participated in the Montevideo meet. The girls had a stellar day with many first place finishes which carried the team to place first.
The Marshall Tigers clawed their way to an impressive third-place finish Saturday in the Class AAA boys basketball state tournament.
Marshall entered the tournament as the No. 3 seed.
Despite a valiant effort by the young Minneota Vikings — the season ended Thursday night at Windom at the hands of No. 1-ranked Jackson County Central, 89-75.
