Tuesday was supposed to be the day the Minneota School Board accepted bids for the new $5.25 million remodeling project.
An initial solution to help alleviate the parking problem at the Lyon County Government center in Marshall has been secured.
Monday night, the Minneota City Council, in special session, made significant changes in the 2018 proposed elementary school/locker room renovation project.
The board approved the salaries for county officials for 2018 at a two and a half percent increase. Among the salaries adopted was a $125,700.76 salary for County Administrator Loren Stomberg.
It’s a new year and the first business the Lyon County Board always has to take care of is to elect a new board chairman and vice-chairman.
Commissioners voted to keep their salaries at the same level as it was in 2016. They are paid $18,500 per year.
Losing money or breaking even has been a stable condition of the Lyon County Fair Board. That is — until this past year.
